Shape paste, liquid fabric... so upset when it got discontinued, but found my replacement in Muroto Volume texturizing spray. Most recently I added Wata wave for my finishing spray. I remembered how much I used to love this product when it was in a silver bottle, they must have changed the ingredients as well. Its not the same as it was.

Unbelievable Texture

Works well, smells terrible.

My stylist used this product on me and I loved the results. But I couldn't' stand the smell. After searching high and low and trying multiple other texturizing sprays, I finally gave-in and purchased this one. It does work fantastically. Great volume that lasts for days, nice amount of hold, and not too stiff. But, I really wish they'd change the fragrance. I agree with another reviewer - it reminds me of stale cigarettes and cheap perfume. Also the fragrance is on the masculine side. I enjoy the scent of other Shu Uemera products - hair essence oil - wish this could smell more like that.

Too Heavy/Stiff

As someone who used Shu Uemera Texture Wave Spray EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past 3-4 years...I was excited to try this new spray and wanted to love it. However, I’m sorry but Wata Wave is a bit heavier and makes my hair stiffer and leaves more residue product feeling. Texture Wave NEVER felt like that. Was planning to just go back to my Texture Wave and came here to order to see it is discontinued!!!! You CANNOT BE SERIOUS!!!!! PLEASE BRING TEXTURE WAVE SPRAY BACK!!!!!!!

Somewhat unimpressed by this product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I went in with an open mind considering this is different than my usual go-to hair products, however nothing really wowed me from start to finish after using it the past couple weeks. It has an odd, unpleasant smell -- being non-fragranced I can understand because it's a selling point for many, however this did have a scent, just not a nice one. I also wasn't sold on the slightly chalky "dry" finish. Again, maybe it's because that's not what I'm used to but I don't think I'd purchase this again.

Most Effective Product

Lightly holds waves in place

I loved that this spray was not like a traditional hair spray that leaves your hair feeling crunchy, but still allows for movement while keeping waves intact. I think the smell is nicely gender neutral but it is a little too perfumey for my preference.

OMG I Love Wata Wave!!!

Nice product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hair is kind of a combination of waves and curls, but it isn't like typical coarse curly hair, it is easily weighed down and it doesn't like to cooperate with any attempts to alter it. Finding good texturizing products helps tremendously with this. The Shu Uemura Wata Wave Texturizing spray has a really lovely fine mist and it isn't a heavy product. It allowed me to tousle my hair a bit without leaving any weird waxiness or crunchiness, and it didn't weigh my hair down. The smell is pretty mild. Other sprays I've used have a less fine mist and are wet, and also often have a really over-powering smell. This is a good product to try if you want to add some body and texture to your hair! I would recommend.

Finally something that works

This spray is my solution to enhanced my waves keeping my natural thick wavey long hair from getting fizzy and making it shine all day. Nice volume!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used another version of this spray before and didn't think it was better than a drug store brand for the price, so I was happy to see that this version seems to be an improvement. It doesn't make your hair crunchy and gives it a nice texture and volume. I did take off one star for the smell; I wish more hair products were neutral scented so they wouldn't clash with others from different brands. I'd say this is a great spray still to use by itself. Absolutely no product buildup. I'd buy it once I'm out.

This is the BEST Texturizing Spray ever!!!!!

Loved it, but not the residue

Keeps hair in place

It's supposed to work on dry hair and create texture. I sprayed it as directed and....just meh. It took a few sprays and trials to create some effect. LIVING FOR THE VOLUME

For volume and sensitized ends lift up sections and spray at the root. Let it dry and shake it up! If your hair tends to be flat use it at the roots and the ends! Amazing amazing product.I love the smell of this spray. The hold is great too! after 3 days of no washing this spray in conjunction with a dry shampoo is perfect. I get the perfect hold and volume. Great light spray with light hold

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked the Shu Uemura Wata Wave Texturizing Spray that I tried on my short wavy hair. It gave me light hold with a nice shine and kept the frizzies at bay here in humid Florida. I would purchased this spray again and I will be recommending it to my Mom and sisters. This spray is better than the competition in that it does not weigh your hair down or feel sticky or gummy upon application.

Amazing

Great finishing spray

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This finishing spray smells amazing! I have gotten many compliments on the scent of my hair! This is perfect for finishing your hairstyle without the crunching from hairspray. This is a more natural finishing spray with a perfume aspect as well. I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a manageable styling finishing spray.

Awesome

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The packaging of this product was already sleek and simple, which I liked. The spray nozzle was easy to use and effective in spraying the product evenly. I absolutely love the sell of the product and the quick dry time. I sprayed it and scrunched my hair for about 20 seconds and there were slight waves that developed and then 30-40 seconds later, I had very subtle curls! What an awesome product, I really like it!

Strong hold
