Does not work on my hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to like this product but unfortunately it does not work with my hair. For reference: I have natural, 50% gray hair, baby fine and thinning due to age and strong medications. I am a permanently disabled senior looking for a dry shampoo that would assist me on those days when I'm struggling to keep up with basic hygiene. I will say, this product has a wonderful slight fragrance and I love that it's a spray on. Unfortunately for me, this product does nothing to absorb the oils in my hair. So, while it does it shine and fragrance, it leaves my hair flat and oily looking.

Like it, will buy again, but not obsessed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's good, works well. Tbh, it's very similar to Living Proof in effectiveness (and they're both a little pricey so 🤷‍♀️). That said, I may order it again, as the travel size is a nice size to slip in the purse. Overall, it doesn't leave any residue on my fine dark blonde hair, and works very well. I need to use a normal amount, comparable to other brands (so the "only need to use a small amount" thing didn't apply here). It does leave my hair "clean" but -- given how fine my hair is -- it also leaves it rather flat. If there was a Pureology dry shampoo + volume...well, that, I'd be obsessed with.

Great dry shampoo!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love this dry shampoo. My hair gets oily overnight, no matter how I change products or routines. I can't win. So dry shampoo is my go-to. I've tried cheaper, big box store dry shampoos but I have to use quite a bit to achieve a decent look but end up powdery. This one, though, achieves the same results with MUCH MUCH less spray. While it's more expensive than the others, I'd only need to buy this every 6 weeks, instead of once a week like the cheaper brands.

No white residue!

So imagine my VERY pleasant surprise when I tried the Pureology dry shampoo and it was totally clear! What? Amazing! I did not like that this dry shampoo contained fragrance, but it was not overpowering. I do not think this worked well for my hair type because my hair seemed more greasy than normal the next day; I am not sure if this is because I had recently dyed my hair brown when my hair is normally blonde. This doesn’t leave behind a white cast, but it did not work well for my hair: very little absorption of oil.

Wanted to love it

Works great but too expensive

The spray mist is much finer, the scent is not overpowering, and it does a fantastic job of absorbing oil without weighing my hair down. The only downside is the price.

Pleasantly surprised!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I swear I’m The pickiest person about dry shampoos, But I actually really like this one. First, I would like that it has a great fresh clean smell so when you use it in the morning it smells like you have just showered but it’s not overpowering. Second, it doesn’t leave the white powdery residue that other dry shampoo brands can leave on dark hair. For a while and I’ve been against any white dry shampoos with my darker roots because they do show up but this one definitely doesn’t and I very much appreciate that. The one thing I don’t care for is that it goes on feeling wettish. That disappears quickly but I don’t really love that feeling and makes me feel as if my hair is going to be slicked down instead of volumized. It doesn’t in fact slick down the hair and you do get volume from there but I wish I didn’t have that initial sort of wet feeling. Overall I think it’s a great dry shampoo and something I would definitely use in my normal day-to-day life. For the record I’m typically a Batiste divine dark user And I am willing to say that this is the closest I’ve come to loving a dry shampoo as much as I love Batiste.

Not for Me

I wash my hair daily (wish I didnt have to), but I have long straight thin hair & when I wake up and don't wash it its flat, you can tell I've been laying on it so I try to get away with just putting it in a pony tail for the day, but my hair is oily sometimes & once pulled back it doesnt't look good, you can tell its oily underneat. I thought I'd dry this dry shampoo & it doesn't help. When I've tried it I've been told by others it smells good.

Lightweight Great Scent

I have an oily scalp but fine thin hait, so I either have to wash my hair or use dry shampoo to soak up the oil. I noticed, using it 2 days in a row that it looked like I had dandruff & I woul see a small white hidden clump sometimes. Other than that I love it. It smells fresh, it doesn't weigh my hair down & it doesn't spray a ton at one time. So the bottle lasts. Would definitely recommend.

cleans hair and adds texture

It smells nice which was a plus and did extend my style longer if I added a little heat to it after I let it do it’s thing. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a hard time with dry shampoos as a brunette. More often than not, I find a white residue after applying. That isn’t easy to hide, and then I end up washing my hair out of frustration, which defeats the purpose of the product in the first place. I haven’t had any issues with white residue since using Pureology Dry Shampoo. It has a light scent, and does a great job absorbing oils. I can usually go more time between washes when I use this product. I would recommend this product to my friends and family!

Pureology Dry Shampoo

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the fact that this dry shampoo is vegan and cruelty free, although it is owned by parent company L'Oreal that does test on animals. It has a pleasant smell and it left my hair looking a lot shinier than other dry shampoos I've tried. It did not leave a white residue. I wouldn't say that it's a game changer though...the effect didn't last long and my hair went back to looking not-so-good after 2.5 hours or so? And although my hair looked refreshed, it still looked kind of greasy at the scalp right after using the product. Bottom line: it (temporarily) makes my hair look better, but not as good as I would expect from a quality dry shampoo at a this price point. I would not purchase this product.

Works great smells better

Brunette opinion

Everyone I tried is good for one thing and not the whole combination of what I expect from a dry shampoo. This one removes the oil, doesn’t get the heavy texture but what makes me remove two stars is the color that shows in the hair. Even after letting sit in the hair for about 5 minutes before brushing, I still see a whiteish color on top of my hair and it’s hard to make it smooth. The quality is very good but maybe I would not recommend for darker hair.

Pureology Style + Protect Refresh and Go Dry Shamp

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Pureology Hydrate Sheer line from Influenster for review purposes and have been using the Style + Protect Refresh and Go Dry Shampoo for the past 2.5-3 weeks to give it a fair chance prior to reviewing. For reference I have fine, wavy hair that has considerable damage/split-ends. My hairline also gets rather oily during the week considering I go to the gym at least 4-5x a week - but I try not to wash my hair more than 3x per week to keep it from drying out, so needless to say I heavily rely on dry shampoos to keep my hair fresh between wash days. As for dry shampoos I am pretty picky as most of the ones I tried in the past don't get the job done, but I'm quite impressed with the Style + Protect Refresh and Go Dry Shampoo and feel it worked really well to keep my oily roots at bay and it didn't leave any noticable white residue on hairline as some other brands have. It also smells really good and I don't need to use too much product to get the job done. Overall I really did enjoy this dry shampoo from Pureology, much more then I liked the shampoo/conditioner combo - and although it's a much higher price point than my usual dry shampoo, I do like the quality and would consider repurchasing in the future!

not a hard hitter

For me, this dry shampoo just did not live up to the expectations of one so costly. It sprayed on light, didn’t show powder in my dark hair, and smelled so nice. A woodsy, light smell. It was easy to use, but I found after a few hours my hair was heavy, and greasier sooner than if I hadn’t used dry shampoo at all. I did use it for styling purposes when I curled my hair, and that helped give it some volume, but that’s about the extent for me. Overall, I liked it, but probably would not be my first recommendation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The style and protect pureology dry shampoo is a must have in your hair routine. I love dry shampoo and I always need one in my gym bag. I used this after a gym session and this was a tough cookie. It really soaked up all the grease and gave me volume. I am a brunette so white cast is a normal thing for me especially with cheap dry shampoo but this was actually fairly easy to disburse in my hair. It has a good clean scent as well.

If used according to the directions and not sprayed too close to the scalp, there is very little white cast to it that blends into the hair and disappears . A very happy surprise ! Personal preference though… big bottle and didn’t weight my hair down though. And the white residue isn’t much either like some are.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So this dry shampoo helps my fine hair a little between washes, nothing dramatic though. I wouldn't say my hair feels cleaner, or looks more voluminous after use. Maybe this formula is better suited to thicker strands?

good stuff

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is good. I’m not always fond of dry shampoos because I need to wash my hair daily, but in a pinch this does get the job done. The price is a little steep because I have dry shampoos that are cheaper and do the same thing, but all in all it’s a good product and see my self purchasing this again!

Basic Dry Shampoo

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dry shampoo is definitely not my favorite (I consider myself to be a bit of a dry shampoo connoisseur) but it does the job. I have thick, curly bi-racial hair that I wash 1-2x/weekly so my bangs often get oily by day 3 or so. This dry shampoo definitely cancelled the greasiness and left my hair looking freshly washed. If I’m honest there’s nothing too special about it because I get similar, if not better, results with infinitely cheaper drugstore brands. The fragrance isn’t my favorite; it is very herbal but not overpowering. Long story short: don’t love it but also don’t hate it. It’s dry shampoo. It cancels the oil. It refreshes your hair. But it leaves you with Patchouli vibes like you just left Woodstock. If it weren’t so expensive I would consider purchasing it again if in a pinch but for now I will stick with my great value drugstore brands. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Good quick shampoo option for fine/thinner hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this complimentary dry shampoo as part of the Pureology HydrateSheer campaign, the items for which which arrived for me in the mail the second to last week of this past December. I would say that overall this dry shampoo was a relatively good fit for my hair type which I would describe as 'combination' in the sense that my root areas are often a little on the oilier side and comparatively more prone to product buildup, whereas the mid length to tips/ends of my hair, in particular, are on the far drier side and more easily prone to breakage and overall damage such as split ends (sometimes even multiple splits per individual hair, unfortunately). My hair texture is fine or thin and straight to slightly wavy depending on what method it is styled or dried with at a given time. Keep in mind, this is an aerosol product if that is of some concern to you for any reason(s), as well as that it does contain a fair amount of alcohol in the ingredients which may be worth noting since for myself and many others, alcohol in hair products may tend to have a drying effect over time. That being said, when. using this dry shampoo product, I actually did not find it overly drying on my hair, and fairly balanced instead compared with a number of other dry shampoo products I have used in the past from different brands. The smell, as dry shampoos go at least, was one I did not find was overly harsh or off-putting to my senses. However as with any dry shampoo or other hair products if course, it is important to find the right balance of how much of the product to use and what areas of your hair to distribute it to the most - for example, when using this item myself, I began by spraying the product near my root and scalp areas a moderate amount, then using my upper palms and fingertips to distribute the rest of the product more fully as well as a little lower down into my hair. This isn't a product I would say you necessarily must worry about being to 'gentle' or delicate either when initially applying (spraying the product I to desired areas or distributing it as evenly as desired into that or other areas of your hair). The price point is a little bit on the high side in my opinion however as I would not consider it *far* superior to some other types and brands of dry shampoo products I have tried in the past so far. That being said, I personally would consider it a good quality dy shampoo and it may be a good option to consider at least looking into if you have a similar hair type and condition to mine, as described above.

fresh style

smells clean & fresh

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very lightweight dry shampoo. A lot of dry shampoos leave a heavy residue that kinda makes your hair feel thicker and puffier. I did not feel like this one did that, but it does help with oil build up. I didn’t see a lot of white powder in my dark hair after using, so that’s plus. It has a pleasant fragrance - clean and just a tad powdery. I gave four stars because I can have very oily hair, and this didn’t work great on No wash day 2.

works great but could smell better

ONLY DRY SHAMPOO I WILL USE

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My scalp would always be itchy with other dry shampoos so I wouldn’t use them. This one doesn’t do that. It’s definitely a quality product. It also isn’t super chalky on the hair and doesn’t dry it out while absorbing the oil. My hair stays fresh the whole time!

Good for Fine Hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to receive Pureology Style + Protect Refresh and Go Dry Shampoo as a free sample in exchange for my review. With my fine, dyed hair, most dry shampoos are too heavy for me; they make my hair look greasier rather than absorbing oil buildup, so I usually have to wash my hair daily. This dry shampoo is a game changer though! I usually still wear my hair up after using dry shampoo, but there were a few days I was actually able to leave my hair down after using this Pureology dry shampoo. Mad props! The scent isn’t my favorite, but it is light and doesn’t linger throughout the day.

favorite dry shampoo!

smells nice & doesn't leave white residue

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm not usually a big dry shampoo person as I tend to wash my hair every couple of days. however, in trying it out complimentary from Pureology and Influenster I did enjoy this product. I have tried in dirty hair and in clean hair. I think it does a nice job. I enjoy the scent. smells fresh. I will continue to use it.
