Terrible. Worst shampoo ever!

This might be the worst shampoo I have ever used. It’s difficult to work into my hair and left my hair feeling damaged and dry. I made the mistake of buying the liter so now I’m stuck with this terrible shampoo and conditioner. Don’t waste your time or money on this one ladies.

Causes stiff unmanageable mane
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shampoo turned my hair hard and difficult to wash in the shower. I tried working it in as directed but my hair seemed to be getting harder so I rinsed it out and it left my hair stiff. Of course I followed with the matching conditioner but I really didn’t like how it made my hair feel. I felt like this shampoo was damaging to the hair shaft. I won’t be using this again and had to seek out this product online to make sure everyone knows you shouldn’t buy it. It was really bizarre, I’ve never had a shampoo make my hair feel dirty and damaged like that before. Definitely not a good feeling when your trying to wash your hair!

Trashed it. Terrible.

Used Pureology Clean Volume for years and loved it. Now discontinued so bought this. Had also tried this one years ago and it was okay back then, but formula must have changed. I put it in the trash, was that bad.

I think I enjoyed using this every other day versus my usual wash routine which is more like washing twice a week. I feel like my hair didn’t feel as clean if I waited longer than two days when using this. But when I used it every other day it definitely got the job done. Also my hair is just really oily so maybe someone with less oily hair would enjoy this product more.

Not the best product

I had to use enough conditioner that any volumizing benefit was lost. Sad because I wanted to like this because I do like the hydrate shampoo… An expensive mistake.

Horrible product

Fine hair: works but sheer hydrate is better
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly, with my fine hair, when compared to the sheer hydrate: the sheer hydrate gave me better volume, healthier hair, and better second day hair (with more volume and less oiliness).
So, for me the volume combo is okay, but there are better options within the pureology line. :)

Pure volume shampoo
What on earth is wrong with this shampoo? I normally use the hydrate but as my hair a little thinner I thought I’d try the volume one. Oh my word - it created a lather for first couple of seconds and then progressed as I was rubbing in to make my hair feel drained on moisture / stiff and I was panicking thinking something is not right. It was stripped of moisture and the more I rinsed the worse it felt. Had to use different shampoo and conditioner to put some life back in my hair. Please can you find out what’s going on. Lots of similar reviews and disappointed customers. I bought the 1 litre bottle so wasted a lot of money. Please respond.

Gray, fine and, colored hair
It drives out moisture from hair. My hair is gray, fine and colored. I
Have used Smooth Perfection before and it does not dry hair out.
Even the pure Volume conditioner does not provide moisture but the Smooth Perfection conditioner does.

Bring back the classic old school (dark pink) bottle of Volume shampoo and conditioner! They discontinued it and never was sure why! It was the best ever! Wish I still could find! The texture is too weird on this new shampoo and conditioner! Doesn’t feel right or work for me!

Totally volumizing your hair

Too Strong Aroma
The aroma is very strong. I am very sensitive to most perfumes and this was way too much, even if I used a very small amount. The aroma persists at least for another hour or so after the shower. The old clean volume shampoo did not have this issue.
Sometimes it feels like there is a heavier residue left on the hair. I am not sure if this is because I have shorter hair. The old clean volume shampoo does not have this issue.
I really want to avoid the sulfates, but avoiding strong aromas is also required.

dull and hard to manage
I have been a fan of Pureology for decades and have used the purple "hydrate" line as well as one called "clean volume" that was in a green container, which seems to have disappeared. So, after using the Pure Volume Shampoo a while, I thought my hair color was wrong and tried to figure out why my hair was so dull. I finally switched back to another shampoo, and instantly my hair was shiny and bouncy again. Unfortunately, I still have most of the last 33 oz bottle of both conditioner and shampoo that I won't be able to use. I had forgotten how nice my hair could look. Since that seems to be the only volumizing shampoo you have now, I will try a smaller bottle of the hydrate shampoo once again to be sure it is still as I remembered.

Meh not for me.

I have very thick hair. So this shampoo did pull alot of color from my hair. And as I was lathering my hair felt like a dry bird's nest. I was not impressed at all. It left a nice lingering scent that lasted for a while after. My hair is thick so I didn’t notice any difference in volume when using this. Did not love it.

I tried it for a month before reviewing it, and I really wanted to love this product but it wasn’t the case. First off i didn’t enjoyed the smell. Also I noticed my ends super dry when washing it but it left my roots greasy. I have tried their hydrating products and have loved them but unfortunately wasn’t the case here.

I didn’t notice much of a difference in the volume in my hair though. I think I would look for different variations of pureology for my next purchase. Probably the hydrate one!

Not for my hair

It smells great but leaves my hair feeling fragile before conditioner. I noticed my hair feeling greasy after using and this is one of my main concerns. It treats color-treated hair gently and leaves hair smelling good. I don’t think this shampoo is for my type of hair as it did not give me a positive result.

worked great for me

I have a lot of hair and it gave me the volume I needed and made it easy to style it. The shampoo made my hair stand out more and I love it for that!! The only thing I didn’t like was the scent, wish it was floral or a fresh smell. I will be recommending this to my friends and family and purchasing the larger size.

I can feel the difference

My scalp also tends to get itchy and dry with other shampoos and this definitely didn’t happen. My hair felt super smooth and hydrated after using this shampoo. I’ve tried a few different shampoos for volume before and this one wasn’t my favorite. I tried it for a bit but just wasn’t getting the volume and texture I was hoping for. After washing my hair it felt tangled and that’s something I’ve worked hard not to happen after having color treated hair.

Disappointed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to get the Pure Volume Shampoo and conditioner, I've always loved Pureology products and have never tried this. Unfortunately though, I wasn't blown away at all, in fact I was a little disappointed. The smell was good, and the shampoo lathered well, but after rinsing the shampoo my hair felt tangled...I figured I just needed to add a bit more conditioner then usual, but when I rinsed the conditioner my hair was hardly soft or even untangled. I air dried my hair, and it dried limp. I figured I'd try it again the next time I washed my hair and blow dried it this time, my hair still wasn't soft and still laid flat on my head.

Good volume
I don’t use this shampoo because I color my hair, I use it brcause it’s gives great volume. This is the best volume shampoo I’ve tried. I’ve tried many volume shampoos and this is the only one that gives consistent results. My hair gets lots of volume each time I wash it. Other shampoos I’ve tried stop giving me volume after 3-4 shampoos.

not my cup of... shampoo

I didnt notice a very big difference in volume, although I have volume in my hair already. This would be a great set for someone with more thin strands and maybe a shorter haircut.

I wanted to love it
