good spray

Very Moisturizing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used a lot of different salt sprays so I was very interested in trying a sugar spray. After the first time I used this, I'm pretty sold on switching. I have long, thin, fine, slightly wavy hair. Applied to wet hair, twisted, and clipped up for a while. Then let my hair down and scrunched. When it dried, it had nice wave and felt very soft. Salt sprays tend to dry my hair out, so while I love them, I try not to use them often. I could definitely use this daily.

It was okay

Sadly not what I expected

I have mainly straight hair but can get a beachy look when applying product to my slightly damp hair. I've done mermaid waves several times before but this seemed too heavy for a happy beachy look.

I love this spray.

Soft Texture

Best beach/sugar spray EVER!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best sugar spray/beach spray that I’ve ever used! I it is so lightweight yet really holds my loose curls together preventing frizz. I use it essentially everyday to style my hair and then let air dry!! I have received several compliments on my hair since switching to Pureology just over a month ago and recommend it to everyone!

Amazing booster for my fine hair

I like to spray on my hand and distribute in a more overall way I suppose to spray and not be able to control the amount wanted in some area ! The scent as described in my opinion doesn’t have anything like it. Smell like a bad fragrance not very nice but it disappears as the day goes fortunately!

Great texturizer on wet hair!

I liked that it added texture without my having to blowdry my hair and without it looking "crispy" or wet when it dried. I only got to try it about 3 times before I accidentally left it in the gym locker room, never to be seen again. So I'll be ordering another one soon!

Lightweight….non sticky ! Works great!

This is the best beach wave spray I have used. Best qualities… it’s very lightweight and non-sticky. It doesn’t dry out my hair. It works wonders on fine hair. A light spray all over after my hair is semi dry results in soft waves.

Really Love It

I have a natural wave in my hair, coarse thick and fine. This really makes my shag cut stand out. Doesn't weigh down or dry out my hair (for reference, I live in Colorado, so semi arid environment, ie snows but zero humidity lol).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product on damp freshly washed hair. I sprayed and scrunched... Then bam wavy hair. It seemed more defined than if I had just let my hair naturally dry. It had a soft finish. I expected it to be crunchy but it wasn't. Will use this product when I want something more than my normal straight hair.

Looked like I hadn't showered

Wasn’t planning on being so impressed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Whenever I hear the word sugar or salt spray I stay far away because my fine hair can’t take anything sticky or crunchy, it’s too prone to breakage. I was very impressed that there was absolutely no sticky or crunchy! It didn’t weight my curls down but pumped them up! I even can use this as a next day refresher spray. Very impressed! Plus love the guilt free use of pureology due to their core values to safeguard your hair from the yucky stuff typically in other brand’s products.

Didn't expect to love it as much as I do

So I was definitely surprised when I tried this spray out and actually had waves that stayed for the majority of the day! It feels lightweight as if I don't have any product in my hair. Great Beach Spray

better than expected!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was even more skeptical about this product than the mousse from this line, but it gave me better results than I expected! I have type 4a curls so whenever I see a product meant for wavy hair, I know my hair type isn’t the target audience. That said, I still wanted to give it a fair chance. I sprayed a generous amount in clean, sectioned (8 sections) hair, smoothed the product in & scrunched each section per the directions (even though my 4a curls are naturally scrunched lol). After applying, I sat under my hooded dryer to dry my hair. My hair had a slight crunch which was surprising to me because it showed that the product gave more hold than I expected. As far as how my hair looked, it had more frizz than I like so I’m not sure I’d use it again which is why I gave it 3 stars. However, there was some curl definition, my hair didn’t get more frizzy after stretching with heat like I always do, and overall, it gave me wearable results (see attachments). Plus, my hair was soft and felt hydrated which I liked. So I’d say this product was a like and may work well for girls with a tighter hair type to use as a Curl refresher spray. Scent wise, it has a warm floral scent.

Tacky

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I tried the spray on my heated curls it was like a wet consistency spray it wasn’t thick I’ve tried other brand before and that one was also wet and I love this one better because it didn’t leave my hair so tacky!! My curls usually only last half the day mostly my bottom layer by the time I leave home my bottom layer is straight and within the spray it hold my curls all day I loved it!! My only complaint is that I don’t know if I sprayed too much and then I went to shower my wet hair felt like damp sticky but not in a gross way I think because I still had product in so I think I would double wash my hair when I use the spray on. Over all I loved it because my curls lasted me all day!!!!! I felt like I was at the beach with my hair semi wet my hair didn’t not feel sticky at all I love it !! And Soo light weight!!

waves on long hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this wave spray on my very long, slightly wavy hair. I start with damp hair after a wash, spray in several times all over my hair and use my hands to scrunch it up from the bottom but also scrunch some mid length so the waves get to the top. I've also used some pureology mouse towards the top because of the weight of my thick long hair. I do this sparingly so it stays smooth and doesn't get crunchy. I love how easy this is and it doesn't get frizzy like I've had with other wave products.

Great heat Protection

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not really into beach waves anymore. I did try it and it did make my straight hair wavy all over. I brushed it out and used my normal hot tools and I was impressed how well my hair looked after I styled it. So even though I’m not into the wavy look this product does help with heat protection and helps your hair look healthier afterwards. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting beach waves or just really good heat protection.

It was very crunchy and stringy looking. I really didn’t care for the scent mostly because the first thing I got a whiff of was alcohol and it was very off putting. A little heavy on hair.

I tried it on damp towel dried hair. it barely added a wave but not to beach tousled waves. i had to respray and rescrunch several times. I still need to retry with dry hair. I DID appreciate that it didn't harden my hair. I have definitely used better products so this disappointed me. I have color treated, pretty naturally straight hair. Did not work for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ll start by saying I have very fine, straight, thick hair and it will not hold a curl. It doesn’t matter if I use a curling iron, a flat iron, really anything. It does not hold. Even with hair spray. When I was much younger and I got a perm it didn’t stick either. So I wasn’t expecting too much from this. Definitely didn’t give me any type of curl. I tried, but it didn’t work. Not on wet or dry hair. So if you have fine hair like myself I wouldn’t suggest buying this product.

Okay, But Not Great.

enhance waves/curls

I used this after applying gel on my hair for a wash and go on areas that needed a little more help with curl formation and scrunched it into my hair. I feel like it helped the curls in those areas form a little more and it did not leave my hair feeling crunchy or dry. I will continue using this when i do wash and gos.

Natural Waves

where is shine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hair is naturally curly and fine. I thought this product can provide my curl lasts longer with heat protection from the curler. The product smells good and fine spraying is made easy to use. I used the product to style after curling the hair and it provide the tousled waves looks. But it gave a bit of dry hair looking than shine wave. If you have dry hair, I suggest trying other products.

waves from days

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Didn't think this would actually work. After a wash and semi dry I spray this great smelling product on and went to bed with my braids. Woke up next morning and was surprised to see the waves from the braid kept most of the day. Have to try these with curlers next.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Pureology hair products they never disappoint. This spray styler smells great,feels light and not too heavy. It encourages curls and natural waves with a nice hold that doesn’t leave hair heavy or sticky. It's a lightweight spray that adds just the right amount of texture. I love it when I am trying to create that beachy wave look. It is easy to use just spray on, scrunch it in with a diffuser and voila. I’d definitely recommend.

Good product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this product. It smells good, and it doesn't feel like it dries my hair out like some wave enhancing sprays do. My natural hair texture is basically straight, with a slight wave to it. The way I like to use it is by washing my hair,t hen spraying it on my damp hair, and finally, french braid it before I go to sleep. When I wake up in the morning, I have a nice, effortless beach wave look, and my hair feels moisturized. Another thing I like about this product is that it has anti color fade and heat protection because sometimes I will hit use it and then hit my hair with a diffuser for a few minutes to increase the wave effect so because it has heat protection I don't have to use an additional spray in my hair and then risk too much product buildup making my hair feel brittle.

Brownie points for smelling good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hair is chemically treated & coloured, but is also generally pretty straight & doesn't take waves/curls well. This product isn't quite up my alley (or really even made for hair like mine tbh) so it didn't do much for me, applied wet or dry. All I got was a little more "body" to my hair but again, I'm not its target audience.

just alright

I tried to create texture and let it air dry, but the product let me down. I also don’t love the smell! I prefer more of a vanilla scent. Would not buy again simply because of my hair type!

LOVE!

My natural curl is more of a beachy wave and this spray really helps bring out my curl pattern- I notice a big difference when I use this and love how it makes my hair look. It’s lightweight and not sticky, plus it’s also not drying like a lot of the beach wave/salt sprays can be. I’ve used it on wet and dry hair and it works great both ways. I will definitely look at repurchasing this in the future!

maybe not for straight and thin hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the Pureology Beach Waves Sugar Spray. The packing is pretty and is very easy to apply. There is a very light and pleasant smell. It is super interesting that it uses only vegan ingredients. However my hair is straight and thin, so scrunching didn’t work, it looked a little messy, but no waves. After applying my hair was not stiff which is great.

nails it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this on towel dried hair, blow dried a little, and then periodically scrunched my hair as it dried the rest of the way. I really like the ‘undone’ tousled look it gave me. I used it along with the root lifting mousse, which I feel like made a good combo. I’m not sure how I feel about the “lightweight “ part, because after day one, my hair did feel a little weighed down- however I think I may have been a little heavy-handed with the product.

shiny hair
