Holy Grail

Heaven in a jar - winter months in the Northeast can be very dry. This mask was hands down one of the best I’ve used for bringing moisture back into my hair and I have used some of the best. And the smell.. is amazing

It smells wonderful!

I have dyed my hair my entire life and periodically have to remove the color to re-dye a fresh color that doesn't have hair dye build up. Hence, my hair gets very dry from that and blow drying daily and hair ironing. I felt this product is going to be more helpful with someone who doesn't do all that to their hair and possibly a more fine hair would benefit from this deep conditioner. My hair is very course and dry and I need more heavy duty deep conditioning.

Soft, shiny hair

I’ve had to start covering my grays for the last 2 years with all over color.... my hair had become dry, brittle and lacked the shine I loved so much. I tried numerous products and then I saw this one in a review in a magazine. I tried it last year and have been hooked ever since. It gives my curly, coarse and color treated hair shine, softness and color protection! It’s the only line I use now! I’ve used the color treated and the urban moisturizer lines and love them both.

Creates soft, shiny, easy-to-manage hair!

Shu products haven't been in my daily regimen solely because I can't afford to constantly buy them - so when I splurged on this urban moisture hair mask I tried to use it sparingly and only for special events. But, when I ran out of conditioner one time I used some of this hair mask instead and wow! I could see immediate results. It makes my thick, dry-ish hair so incredibly soft and shiny. I could even tell in pictures how much better my hair looked. This will be added regularly to my routine now...plus a little goes a long way so I don't feel too bad about splurging on this!

A Must Try

Really amazing results... I have shoulder length fine double process wavy hair. I use other lines from shu but when this came out I decided to try it. It makes my hair very soft and it also has volume & will hold a blowout longer. I can't say enough good things about this line. I have the shampoo, mask and serum. Goodbye Frizz - Hello sleek hair !!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first time trying a hair masque and it definitely won't be my last. I have long hair that is usually wavy/frizzy straight and thick. Getting ready in the morning is a hassle at best because it takes me about 20 minutes o dry my hair and another 30-40 minutes to straighten my hair. After using the masque, I let my hair air dry in order to truly assess the effectiveness and was I ever surprised! My hair was extremely frizz free, soft and looked great even in the intense humid Florida weather. I am always on the hunt for hair care products that work and this is one I would highly reccomend. I am including a picture of my hair even an hour into a soccer match outdoors and even with the humidity, it still maintained its sleekness and soft appearance. I highly reccomend the Hydro Nourishing Deep treatment for anyone who has dry hair and/or frizzy hair and wants to restore their hair to a healthy and beautiful sheen.

Hydro Nourishing Masque Review

Smooth and clean

Really great deep conditioner

The lightweight formula enters the hair fiber to soften and smooth while protecting against future dryness. Recommended for normal to thick hair densities, the hair masque leaves dry hair tamed, detangled, and shiny with a healthy glow." My thoughts: Besides this deep conditioner smelling wonderful, it also left my dry wavy/curly hair soft, smooth, and shiny. This conditioner helped bring my hair back to life and gave it ample moisture to the ends. I would purchase it, but will need to save a little bit before I do! I used it once a week.

Okay Nourishing Deep Treatment

Better than the shampoo!

My roots get very oily and the bottom gets dry and tangled. I try to stay away from conditioner due to my hair looking greasy in a couple hours, so I try to find a treatment to use once or twice a week! I am very pleased with the results of this treatment! It left my hair very silky smooth, but not weighed down! I have been using it Monday's and Thursday's, and my hair looks smoother! I usually just have to put my hair in a messy bun to hide the tangles and dryness, but now I'm able to straighten my hair and leave it down and I've gotten so many compliments on it! (optional directions are indicated for either use on the packaging) After using the shampoo, I applied the masque like a daily conditioner, leaving on for a few minutes, then rinsing out. My hair felt soft and hydrated. I have two daughters and each of us has slightly different textures. This masque gave each of us well-conditioned, combable hair. I also want to mention that it provides great slippage. As an African-American with natural hair, I look for conditioners that allow me to comb through my hair, while it's wet, without snagging tangles and pulling my hair. With the masque applied, I was able to comb through my wet hair easily, with reduced breakage or hair shedding.

The fragrance is very soft and neutral for either a man or a woman. I actually use this product is a daily conditioner and not really as a mask and it worked well. VERY Moisturizing

I thought that is what I wanted, but it turned out to be a bit too much for my hair. It felt weighed down, especially when I put in my normal oil and mousse products. I have long hair and was not sure that the amount in the single packet would be enough to treat all of my hair but it did. The product was thick but not oily. Dry hair has been rescued!

To be fair, I use specifically shampoo for dry hair already, so that means it seems to work as well as my current hair product. Good overall, but not worth the price!

After using the product, my hair felt extra soft and had a sleek shine to it! Despite these positive results, I felt like the treatment felt like body lotion in my hands and it did not have a great smell to it. It actually smelled like basic body lotion as well. I can typically go 2 days without washing my hair because it is so thick, but this product left me feeling like I needed to wash my hair daily. It's very hydrating and it doesn't need to sit in your hair for 2 hours...I washed my hair, put the masque in and ran a comb through it, washed everything else, and after about 8 minutes, rinsed it. My hair was shiny and hydrated and I felt like it wasn't weighed down. I did use the product two days in a row (just to see) and this is not for every day use. It was weighed down the second day. Disappointing Masque

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hair is extremely dry despite the fact I use no products on my hair, dye or heat style it. Living at 8500ft the sun will do some nasty damage to even the healthiest hair. I use a crazy amount of conditioner on my hair and as such was extremely excited to try the she uemura hydrating hair masque. I loved how hick and rich it felt in my hands. As I started applying it though I was already becoming disappointed, but I pressed forward. Going on it made my hair feel drier, crazy I know! I ran my comb through my hair and let the masque sit whilst I did all my other shower things. I went to rinse it out and it rinsed out cleanly but left my hair feeling 'crispy' and under hydrated, so much so that I needed to use another conditioner that I left on the ends of my hair. I tried this masque three days in a row hoping that it would improve with more use but to no avail. I would not use this conditioner again if given the chance. I had high hopes that were left out to dry with my already dry hair.

Didn't live up to expectations

Very Nice Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product smells really nice, not overpowering or too much. I think it might have been a bit too heavy for my hair now that it's super-short pixi. I think the product works well for super dry, frizzy..difficult to manage hair. Might be a bit too much for straight/thin/smoother hair. I liked the thickness of the product as well, wasn't thin and watery but it also wasn't like putting glue in your hair either. Texture is important to me, if I feel like I can't rince something out enough I'm not likely to use it again. This rinsed out easily. My only issue is cost, it's really pretty expensive but if you want to splurge and have really hard to manage hair this might be the thing to try!

Initial Impressions are Neutral

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first use of this product did not impress me very much. It has a pleasant fragrance that doesn't linger in your hair. My hair didn't feel weighed down by the product or like there was a large amount of residue left on my hair follicles. However, I did not feel that it deeply nourished my hair. My hair felt conditioned like any other normal conditioner I have ever used. I was not overly impressed, but for the price point, I'm not sure I'd continue to purchase it.

My new favorites!

I left the masque on for about 5-7 minutes, while I exfoliated, shaved, etc. A little goes a long way and I love that it's safe for my color treated hair! My hair was so soft and smooth and it seemed to take less time to style (I blow-dry and flat iron). This stuff is awesome!

Silky Smooth

The smell is quite lovely and the masque didn't feel heavy like so many can. A small bit was all that was needed, which is great. My hair felt silky smooth and looked super shiny. Healthy, Shiny Hair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The deep treatment masque was awesome! In combination with the shampoo, it left my hair feeling soft and made it look shiny without being too heavy. It was super moisturizing and helped get rid of my tangles (my first indication that my hair is getting dry). It also managed to moisturize without being too heavy and weighing down my hair. My only gripe is the lack of instructions- Because of the name, I assume this isn't a regular conditioner and shouldn't be used as often or has different application instructions. There were no instructions included.If it is regular conditioner and can be used every day, they should consider changing the name and/or making that clearer.

Felt great wet but left hair dry later

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved the shampoo companion to this masque so I was excited to try the masque. It smelled and felt great during application and it washed out easily, and my hair felt smooth and soft. Once my hair was dry, however, the ends felt very dry (think hay) and even sounded crunchy when I touched them. In effect, this masque actually seemed to dry out my ends rather than infuse moisture. for reference, I have a full head of curly thick hair.

Soft/Smooth Hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Hydro Nourishing Deep Treatment Mask worked wonders on my hair. I washed my hair with shampoo, put the mask on and let it sit for around 3 minutes. As soon as I rinsed it out I could tell a noticeable difference in my dry damaged hair. This left it feeling so soft and smooth. The smell was great too. Days later my hair is still soft and not frizzy. This has definitely left it softer than other masks I've tried. I highly recommend if you have dry, frizzy, or damaged hair!

Nourishing Hair Masque

Hydration Please

The Nourishing Deep Treatment Masque did the trick though. It did not take a lot of product. It spread easily throughout my hair. After air drying, my hair was soft and manageable. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the Shu Uemura Hydro Nourishing Deep Treatment Masque is an amazing follow up to the Hydro Nourishing Shampoo. After completely rinsing all of the shampoo out of my hair, I used a a generous portion of the conditioner (about 50 cent piece size). I was expecting a greasy conditioner as the product looked to be thick. When I applied it to my hair, I was pleasantly surprised that it felt completely water soluable. There was almost no fragrance to the conditioner as well which I liked. It absorbed into my hair and it didn't feel slimy or slick at all. I massaged it all the way into my scalp and throughout the strands. I left it in while I showered and then rinsed....Approximately 3 minutes of total conditioner time. I completely rinsed my hair and could tell right away that my hair was different. No frizz or strawlike texture. My hair felt amazing! After drying with the hair dryer and using the flat iron to turn my ends under, I was shocked at how smooth and silky my hair looked and felt yet it wasn't weighed down. I had ZERO frizz! I highly, highly recommend this product!

The Shu Masque left my hair feeling silky and tangle free. I loved it so much, I left it straight. Deep conditioners are necessary in the dry AZ summer. From frizz to sleek and shiny

Dry Hair No More

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the Hydro Nourishing Treatment is a really great product that all hair types can use. I have naturally curly hair that I use a flat iron on daily. The damage is visible at the ends. I left the product on my wet hair for five minutes. While rinsing it out, I could feel how silky and smooth my hair was! After I dried and straightened my hair with no other products, my hair looked and felt great! My hair felt and looked healthy again. The damaged ends appeared smooth and less noticeable. I can't stop running my fingers through my hair! I am impressed by this product! I would highly recommend it!

Blown away!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't know which of the two products were better but I think both the shampoo and mask are equally important. The mask is AMAZING! Just like with the shampoo, the mask is top quality and feels like a salon product. I was honestly amazed when I went to comb through my hair and the brush didn't get stuck not once! I normally have knot's after washing my hair and it takes work to brush through my long thick hair but with this mask in my hair I didn't need to do all that work! This is an A++ Product!

I am a hairdresser and I used this range for the first time and LOVED IT!! My hair has never stayed clean and full of volume for as long as it did when I used Urban Moisture. Having super fine, blonde, damaged hair I wasn't expecting my hair to feel too different but it felt like a whole new head of hair.
