[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. Unfortunately, my honest review is that I didn't like this at all. I have long, thin, fine hair. I tried this on both wet hair and dry hoping one would be better. It just didn't feel good on my hair at all. It was very sticky almost and made my hair tangled not smooth at all. It felt more like a hair gel and it was actually really good when I put my hair up in a pony tail or bun at holding my hair in place. But that's not what it's advertised for, so I wouldn't spend that much money on something that I have to use not as directed. I can't recommend because I don't know who it would even work well on.

Tame the Mane

I have medium-thinner color treated hair. The winter kills any style with static and makes my hair very dry and unmanageable. This product was great after a bit of warming in my hands. It can seem a bit sticky if it's not warmed before putting in hair. it smoothed my hair so nicely and didn't weigh it down!

Love the shine and softness

It only takes a teeny tiny amount to cover medium length hair, and isn’t sticky. Doesn’t dull or make hair dirty looking or feeling. I’ve had more colleagues ask, “Did you get your hair done?” (5 weeks ago!) this bottle will last awhile, but I’ll definitely buy another in the future!

Disappointed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used your products for years. I love your shampoos, conditioners, deep conditioners etc. but I especially loved the shineMax and I was disappointed when it was discontinued. However, after doing some research, it was suggested that I use this product instead and unfortunately I have been disappointed. My hair does not feel or look the same using the shine bright taming serum. I have tried to give it time. I've tried different amounts and different methods of styling and I'm not happy with the way my hair looks anymore. So unless you bring back shinemax, I'll be forced to search for another brand that has something comparable to ShineMax.

Made hair greasy and look messy without hydrating
This was a waste of money I wish I would have never bought it! I used your original hydrate shine Max serum for years and years .... please, can't you bring it back???!!!... Now that my shine max original is gone it causes that I can't keep my hair long because of this change in your product?!! Please please bring back the original formula! If I am having this issue, that means others are having the same issue unless maybe they found a product that's close to what the original hydrate shine max did, but I can't afford to keep trying more and more different products anymore after trying to find something close to it!!! Very disappointed in pureology.

Not My Style!
Have used it 3 times now. Emulsify in palms till cream turns to serum? Doesn't happen. Wind up with sticky goo which leaves hair crunchy, greasy looking, and separated into chunky strands, but shiny! I do not like the results or the product. Loved the Smooth Perfection Lightweight Smoothing Lotion which I cannot find anywhere, including on your website. So disappointed!

You have to rub the product in your hands to make it a clear serum, it’s helps with some flyaways. My hair is wavy, frizzy and it helps keep some of it down. Hair finishing staple!!! HG status

This is the absolute perfect last touch to finish a style, almost like a silky light pomade, if you will. But very light weight and does not weigh down my fine hair. It is magical! You should only use a small amount otherwise it will leave your hair looking greasy. The only thing I do not like about this product is the heavy use of silicones. I cannot use this product as often as I would like since silicones build up easily on my hair type.

If you do not follow the directions to emulsify the product fully, it will make your hair look greasy and flat. When done properly, my hair did have a good shine in a healthy looking way. But I was really disappointed with the outcome. I followed the directions and my hair looked like I just sprayed hair spray in it and made it look greasy. Also it had a heavy alcohol smell that I did not like. It looked better after I brushed it through again but I never have that problem with other products. Maybe this product is not for my fine hair type so it looks like I will be sticking to my old faithful product.

It did help tame my fly away fine hair and helped with shine. It’s only problem is finding the right amount to use for your hair so it’s not to much. Not great for fine hair

I quickly learned that a little goes a long way and you’d definitely have to wait until the texture goes from a cream to a serum before applying to hair… now why am I confused? Simple the shine like in the name is actually extremely amazing I makes my hair look soo shiny but not greasy and it appears to make it look so healthy even when flat ironing and it definitely helps with the ugly fly always ends BUT as for “serum” I personally do not like the way it feels on my hair it doesn’t feel harsh but it sure doesn’t feel like I just used serum so I do catch myself using a serum after on ends to make them feels softer and for someone with thin hair, less is better. Do I hate it? No. Do I love it? No. Will I keep using it? Yes. Would I buy it again? No.

Too Heavy for my hair

It did keep stray flyway hairs down but it didn't make my hair look very clean. I think with thicker darker hair it would work better.

Great serum

Made my hair greasy!

I came out of the bathroom and my boyfriend asked if I had washed my hair cause it looked like I didn't - he never notices! I currently use another product that does this same thing but doesn't grease my hair so I'll continue with that. For reference I have long, fine, medium thick hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is by no means my favorite serum. It is effective and has a decent smell. You can only put a tiny amount in your games at a time to get it to emulsify properly. And you have to run hard to get it from the sticky cream to the usable serum.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking for something like this in my life for too long. I have this breakage, that never seems to resolve (hard water problems). So my hair looks perfect, and then a turn and different light later, and boom all these hairs are sticking up and my perfect hair day is gone. I put some of this on and it helped a lot. the only con is there's a fine line on how much to put on so your hair doesn't look greasy!

We seen a decrease in the flyaways and a great shine without her hair being weighed down. I was scared to try it myself since the root lifter striped color out of my hair each time I used it.

Mixed Feelings

The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because although it does add some shine to my hair, there are products out there that add more shine, if that's the effect you are trying to achieve. I do really like that this product adds both shine and softness, though. I wanted to add that you can use it on dry hair, so for me, people like that don't wash their hair every day; that's a plus because my second hair usually starts to look lackluster and gets dry on the ends and this helps revive my hair and add some shine to it. This is a picture after I just applied it the product to my hair.

The consistency is thick & sticky & takes a bit of warming up between my hands before being worked into my head. Tamed some flyaways, but I've seen better.

It is super interesting that it uses only vegan ingredients. I didn’t like the texture as much, just because it is thick, so not very easy to apply to the hair evenly. I received compliments that my hair was shining and it felt smooth, so works well for a very oily, straight and thin hair.

Smooth hair
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I normally have pretty greasy hair so I’m very skeptical of products that are supposed to add any shine to it. I used this product from the middle to the ends of my damp hair and it totally made a difference. After blow drying, my hair was silky smooth. I legitimately kept touching it because I was so impressed with how smooth it was. I think if you use too much it will definitely have the opposite effect of what you are looking for, so be careful! I know the picture doesn’t do it much justice, but if you knew my hair before it’s a big difference! So glad for the #voxbox!

My ends are the worst! It is honestly so hard finding a serum that doesn’t leave me looking like a grease ball by the end of the day. I received this free and gave it a try in exchange for an honest review. The scent of this is crisp and beachy! It isn’t an oily type of serum. It’s creamy and I’ve tried both to wet and dry hair. Decent serum

I currently wear alot of protective styles such as braids, wigs etc but I have been letting my natural hair breath for a month or so. I applied the serum after washing and conditioning my color treated hair and let it air dry. It seemed to make my hair smoother and shinier but it’s nothing I would buy again. Great for color-treated hair

However, I ended up being pleasantly surprised! It didn't leave my hair feeling stiff or greasy AND, yes, it did add quite a bit of shine, too. I must have had high expectations of these products. The serum is very good, it feels like a cream at first but when you apply it to your hair it's like an oil that leaves your hair very soft and moisturized. the mousse and spray were a bit harsh on my hair, which is damaged and thin. But I felt that they left it super dry and hard, these last two products were not to my liking, instead the serum is great!

It works best in my opinion on damp hair. It works well to control frizzy hair. However, I personally did not like to use it on dry hair. My hair felt sticky afterwards.

Nice smoothing serum
